one mo' flow

he sunday class at the Ojai school of massage was totally awesome agian. This time I switched up the flow by starting out in a yin style, butterfly, swan, saddle to slowly wake up the body, and then we moved into the warrior advance and retreat flow. This is where you start by raising your arms and right leg, then taking a brave step back with the R leg, and pivoting towards the right push through with the left hand coming into a warrior pose (so far R leg bends L leg extended behind Left arm pushes through and Right arm reaches towards left leg.) Then bringing the left arm back towards your center pushing to the opposite side with the right arm now bending the left knee with left arm and right leg behind you. Once more pushing through to the right side with left arm. Then warrior retreats, bringing the right arm swiftly to the left foot with left knee bent and left arm extended into the air, then while keeping both feet on the ground bring arms together and circle over to the right and back over to the left leg where you rest the weight of you for a second before you push off onto the right foot and raise arms into the air, with left leg still above the ground, settling back down the arms and the left leg. To complete one round of this, begin again by raising the left leg and start from there. It's just the opposite. To cool down after several rounds of the warrior advance and retreat, we did several ancient sun salutations which are just easy flowing salutes like raise arms fly down, bob, then fly up and settle with arms at the heart. there were a few rounds of that and then it was time to relax into sivasana. This class had nice flute music which was my savior because it helps me to focus. This was a fun class. Thanks!
